Public School Superintendent, Teacher, Artist
Dan is superintendent of schools for Corbett, Oregon. Called “Danimal” by friends and family, he served as a teacher and coach, an assistant principal and athletic director, a principal and a district director prior to becoming superintendent.
Two passions have characterized Dan’s life: art and athletics. He competed in three sports in high school and two, on scholarship, in college. Coach Wold put in a combined 47 seasons of football, basketball and track. He still competes in recreational basketball and masters track meets.
Before moving into administration, Dan taught art for 24 years, and still teaches adult classes in stained glass and landscape painting. He has sold dozens of artworks on commission, and has had five of his pieces published in an international art quarterly. While a young adult, Dan created “The Outdoorsman Game,” a board game for hunters and fishers that sold out two editions nationwide.
